McLaughlin Awarded Shield of Honour By Coopers' Incorporation of Glasgow.
Ed McLaughlin, President and founder of
Kelvin Cooperage, was recently awarded the Shield of Honour by the
Coopers' Incorporation of Glasgow. The Coopers' Incorporation recognized
Ed's service to the cooperage industry in Scotland and beyond. Ed
has been a cooper for over 45 years. Ed served his apprenticeship
and started Kelvin Cooperage in Glasgow. Kelvin Cooperage, now located
in Louisville, Kentucky, serves leading distilleries and wineries
worldwide.
Ed McLaughlin Elected President of ACIA
Ed McLaughlin,
the President of Kelvin Cooperage, was elected
President of the Associated Cooperage of Industries of America,
Inc. at the Association's 2000 Meeting.
The ACIA is a non-profit organization that serves as a contact
point for the membership, distributes available information about
the wooden barrel (emphasis on white oak), and promotes the common
interests of those in the industry. The ACIA membership is made up
of cooperages, producers of staves and heading, several distillers
and vintners, and other firms whose business interests are allied
to the wooden barrel.

Paul McLaughlin Joins Kelvin Cooperage
Paul McLaughlin joined Kelvin
Cooperage in June of 2001. Paul will handle sales, marketing, and
service for Kelvin's growing American oak wine barrel business.
Paul was previously an attorney with the international law firm
Morrison & Foerster, LLP. Paul graduated from Harvard with a
bachelorç—´ degree in Government and received his law degree from
Notre Dame.
Kelvin Cooperage to Attend the 11th Annual AWITC
Kelvin Cooperage will attend
the 11th Annual Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference from
October 7 - October 11, 2001, at the Adelaide Convention Centre in
South Australia. Paul McLaughlin will attend on behalf of Kelvin
Cooperage. Look for us and our barrel at the Cork Supply Australia
